About the role

The Haemodialysis Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides advanced clinical leadership and delivers direct patient care within the dialysis service.
The CNC is responsible for coordinating and providing safe, evidence-based care for haemodialysis patients, including comprehensive and ongoing assessment of patient needs, responding to individual requirements, and ensuring timely communication with medical, nursing, and allied health personnel. This role combines hands-on clinical practice with service leadership.
The CNC works alongside the dialysis nursing team to deliver patient treatments, while also acting as a resource and role model for complex clinical decision-making. The CNC supports the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) – Cancer and Dialysis by providing day-to-day clinical oversight of the dialysis service, assisting with staff supervision, education, rostering input, and contributing to quality and safety initiatives. The CNC promotes evidence-based practice, leads education for colleagues across disciplines, and supports professional development within the team.
The Haemodialysis CNC will demonstrate superior clinical expertise together with outstanding interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, to provide the best possible care for our patients and in alignment with goals of WDHS and RMHKCS.

The successful candidate must have or obtain a National Criminal Police Check. Depending on the role, a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check, and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check may also be required.
