Requirements:

  • Must register with the Health Practice Commission of the Cayman Islands  
  • Registered OT with your state, province or country
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in paediatric clinical setting
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership OT role
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the program including heavy lifting and bending
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Criminal records check
  • Applicants must be registered or eligible for full registration in Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, or the United States of America


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients and their families to set OT goals that have measurable outcomes
  • Provide direct service, consultation, mediation and education to client, family and community providers
  • Utilize research to establish and support evidence-based practice
  • Provision of in-school consultations to parents and/or teachers as and when needed
  • Ability to facilitate group sessions
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 23 direct therapy sessions (60 minute sessions) per week
  • Provide a minimum of 2 presentations to the community per calendar year.


Lead OT Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for enforcing professional and ethical standards for  Occupational Therapist and KidsAbility’s policy and procedures in order to maintain  KidsAbility's high quality of care for clients and  families. 
  • Work with the leadership team to promote a positive work culture environment within the clinic and community. 
  • Facilitate  monthly clinical meetings with each OT  to review clients, goals, targets, schedules, etc..  
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding,  orientation, and training schedules for new OTs. 
  •  Help with creation and/or delegation of parent resources,  information handouts related to occupational  therapy and act as liaison for any major projects  that involve OT services. 
  • Perform additional lead duties as requested by Clinical Supervisor and Director.

Hours

  • 8:00-5:00pm Monday- Friday schedule

 

Contract Length

  • 2.5 years (30 months)

 

Salary

$70,000.00- 75,000.00 KYD per year


Pension

5% contribution from employer + 5% contribution from employee

Health

$100 monthly towards health plan of choice or 50% of basic health plan.

Gas Mileage

$70CI/ month (when more than 12 out of clinic visits).

Phone

$20CI/month towards phone credit.

Relocation Flight

Up to $1000usd for initial flight to Grand Cayman 

Vacation

2 weeks paid vacation + 2 weeks unpaid vacation

Public Holidays

11 paid public holidays per year

Sick Days

As per the Cayman Islands Labour Law: 10 sick days per year
