DescriptionThe Registered Nurse will perform and manage all clinical activities which occur in the Cayman Islands.
This role will provide safe and effective clinical services for the primary patient while in the Cayman Islands. This will include plasmapheresis and phlebotomy, as well as minor laboratory processing and shipping of specimens. This will also include overseeing activities such as red light, hyperbaric, and other non-medical adjuvant procedures. This role is also responsible for the setup and operation of machinery, and for assisting in maintaining a safe and clean working environment. In addition, this role will also support research activities by ensuring that all study protocols are followed appropriately, and by assisting the patient in objective and subjective data collection.
DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Responsible for driving the culture through values and customer service standards.

- Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

PATIENT CARE:
- Perform and monitor plasmapheresis.
- Assist and monitor hyperbaric oxygen chamber use.
- Assist and monitor red light bed use and blood-flow restriction training regimen.
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Process whole blood into plasma for -80C storage.
- Perform CLIA-waved laboratory testing.
- Administer therapies as directed by a physician and within scope of practice, including but not limited to oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes.
- Observe and monitor patient for tolerance of treatments.
- Observe and record basic vital signs (resting HR, BP, vision, hearing) as well as other signs as requested by the clinical team.
- Accurately record all clinical activities.
MAINTENANCE/TECHNICAL:
- Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
- Maintain equipment integrity and aesthetics - ensure all SOPs are followed regarding routine and atypical maintenance and cleaning/sterilization of medical equipment.
- Clean and disinfect clinical equipment surfaces, chairs, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
- Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for therapies, treatments, adjuvants, or training activities.
- Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
- Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.
CLERICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE:
- Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
- Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review treatment sheets for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensure omitted entries are completed or corrected where appropriate.
- Prepare lab requisitions for prescribed or stat Lab specimens according to laboratory destination.
- Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according required laboratory specifications.
- Ensure collection of lab specimens by appropriate lab courier.
- Assist the primary patient in personal subjective and objective data reporting activities.
Requirements - 5 years experience in patient care in a nursing capacity in either a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Experience with home-care nursing a plus.
- Experience with high-profile individuals a plus.
